The Right Retirement Partner: Why Cindy Kleine Chose New Horizons

When Cindy Kleine moved to North Carolina, most people expected her to slow down. Instead, she kept serving her California clients, even flying across the country every year during AEP. It's the kind of commitment that explains why so many clients stayed with her for so long.

Over time though, the business became harder to manage from across the country. Her client base continued to grow, Medicare became more complex, and keeping up with everything was no longer a one-person job. That's when Cindy started thinking seriously about succession planning and transitioning her book of business.

After connecting with John Hockaday a few years before, Cindy reached back out to inquire again about what a book buy would look like. John, who had kept in touch with Cindy over the years, was able to work with her, make an offer, and create a plan to acquire her book of business. This included a seamless transition to a new agent for her clients and a pathway to retirement for Cindy.

Today, Cindy is enjoying retirement in North Carolina, spending more time golfing, playing pickleball, and focusing on life outside the Medicare business.

Looking back, she's confident she made the right decision. By planning ahead and finding someone she trusted to take over, she was able to step away knowing the clients she cared so much about and the relationships she had built would continue to be well served.
