The AEP Pep-Talk You Really Need Right Now

Good news – you have made it through week one, and you are well on your way through week 2 of AEP. This is the most fun time of the year if you love to write business. I know some people complain as it is overwhelming at times, but then again, that is because we are so doggone busy.

Let's face it – we as an industry do not hit it too hard for most of the year. I am glad the MA and PDP world started this AEP as it is definitely a call to action. This is a time we all get hit with clients wanting to talk to us.

I am not a fisherman, but springtime is when fisherman love to fish. Why? Because that is when the fish are ready to bite.

The senior consumer is ready and wants to talk to you, so help them get them the peace of mind they desire. Fix them up with the coverage and protection their family needs.

Attitude is everything, and I believe that if you get excited and happy for this time of the harvest, you will benefit from it.

I also want to encourage you to cross-sell. Even if you do not close the deal right now, plant the seed to see you again in the next 90 days, and I bet you will find a new commission stream that is a win for the consumer and you the agent.

Make sure you define some goals now:

  • How much do you want to write?
  • How many cases you can get referrals from?
  • How many clients can you cross-sell?

Defining those goals will give you something to aim for by December 7.

Now is the time to focus on being successful, prepared, and dedicated.

Now is the time to fill your stringers.
