This is one of the biggest surprises in my insurance marketing career. Aflac is a Fortune 500 company that doesn't just change its mind on a new product line in 10 or 11 months. They invested a couple of years researching and doing the due diligence before they jumped into the market, and after 10 months they say "Adios?"
This past week we did our best to find out why they made this decision, but the only thing we know for sure is that we don't know the full story. Knowing the reason would not have changed the outcome of their exit, but we'd still like to know.
New Horizons appreciates all the business we received from you with Aflac. We are very sorry for any concerns this company's exit may have caused you.
However, we believe in the carriers we are currently marketing and are very proud of the stable of companies we represent. I personally do not believe we have ever had a better arsenal of companies than we do today. I will list them just so you can see it is a dream team line up...
- Aetna
- Cigna
- Central States Indemnity (CSI)
- Combined Insurance
- Equitable Life & Casualty
- Manhattan Life
- Medico
...and we have a few more coming first quarter in 2014.
I want to thank all our agents for the loyalty you have shown to New Horizons, and we will continue to try to give you the best carriers, products and services we can find to make your business grow.
One more thing to note: the marketing trip that was in effect for Aflac sales will be honored by AIMC and your production will be counted and prorated since this exit happened before the contest was to be complete.
Happy selling!
