We get a lot of similar questions when new agents call into New Horizons. If you're interested in working with our FMO, here are some answers to questions you might have!

Number 1: Why New Horizons?

We actually created an entire Why Us? Page on our website, but here are a few highlights:

New Horizons was founded by agents, and with us, you’ll find that we value our relationship with you over anything else.

Number 2: How do I get contracted?

You can use the SureLC contracting system on our website, or you can call us and ask for Ginny Dunker, our Contracting Specialist.

Alternatively, we have contracting forms on all of our product pages. So, if you know what products you want already, that can be a handy option.

Number 3: How do I get help placing a tough underwriting case?

We’ve honestly seen just about everything, and my dad – John Hockaday – is an underwriting expert. Give us a call at 888-780-7676 and we’ll help you place your tough cases.

We also have some tip sheets that give you underwriting highlights. That can be very helpful for doing a first pass on your own.

Number 4: What do you do for training?

You can call us anytime for help, but we do have webinars, a ton of training materials on our website, and period training opportunities throughout the year.

Our training hubs are a great place to start!

Number 5: If I don’t have an out of state license and want to write a policy, what do I do?

We have licenses in 42 states, so we can help you. We’ll write your customer and split the commission with you.

Number 6: What types of products do you market?

Medicare Supplements are our bread and butter, but we represent all of the senior market products, including Medicare Advantage, Life Insurance, long-term care solutions, annuities, and ancillary products like cancer and DVH insurance.

Number 7: What do you do for leads?

We offer lead lists at a discounted rate for our agents. We don’t currently offer an internal lead program.

We’ve done them in the past, but we found that occasionally, the agent could get a batch of bad leads and it would hurt our relationship with them. We don’t have control over the quality of the leads, so we decided to pay all the commission we can, and the agent can choose their lead source.

Number 8: If I work with New Horizons, am I captive?

All of our agents are independent. We work for you, and our goal is to help you grow your business independently. All of the commissions will be passed directly from the carrier to you.
